We're recruiting an Employment Solicitor or Barrister
Contract length: permanent or part-time
Hours: full-time 37.5h/week
Location: London hybrid (with possibility of remote for an exceptional candidate)
The Work Rights Centre seeks a motivated solicitor or barrister to enhance our employment rights programme by providing expert legal advice, casework, and supporting our strategic development.
This role is ideal for a candidate with a strong sense of justice, valuing impact, teamwork, and autonomy within a diverse, agile team. Flexible and remote work options are available, along with 28 days of annual leave plus a winter holiday break.
The role:
You will provide high-quality employment legal advice, support the Head of Employment in supervising senior legal advisers, develop accessible legal information for the public, deliver training, and collaborate with policy colleagues. This role offers a chance to support vulnerable workers' individual and group claims and contribute to systemic change.
About you:
We are looking for a qualified solicitor or barrister who shares our mission to end in-work poverty by aiding vulnerable workers in seeking justice, and who has:
* At least two years of practising experience in the UK, with some employment law experience
* Experience working in a legal team
* Excellent analytical skills and legal research ability
* Strong client management skills, including professionalism, courtesy, realistic expectation-setting, and communication
* Empathy and understanding of migrants and vulnerable workers' backgrounds and experiences
