Hours: 35 hours per week

Contract: Permanent

Location: Hybrid - A blend of working from home and your nominated hub office, we have hubs in London, Bristol, Manchester and Oxford. Specific patterns for working in the office are not mandated, and the frequency of time worked in the office is agreed with your manager. Meeting in person is something we value so you may need to travel on occasion to any of our hub offices.

About the role:

The Transformation Directorate

is responsible for translating Jisc’s vision into reality through purposeful, strategic change.

We bring together the Enterprise Portfolio Management Office (EPMO) and product enablement teams to lead major transformation programmes and cross-cutting initiatives that deliver lasting impact.

Within the Transformation Directorate, the Enterprise Portfolio Management Office (EPMO) are responsible for the delivery of strategic initiatives across the organisation. The EPMO acts as a centre of excellence for all projects and programmes within Jisc. The team is multi-disciplinary consisting of Project Managers, Programme Managers, Business Analysts and Business Change Managers who support with the design, delivery and implementation of a wide range of initiatives working in cooperation with colleagues across all Sectors and Directorates.

The EPMO has been created to provide a centralised strategic business function driving, through the creation of a permanent portfolio office, a significant portfolio of works to the highest quality. We are focusing on modernisation, efficiency and digital, and ensuring that we are delivering the services that add real business value, all at a standard and pace to efficiently support the business, our members and customers.

You will be expected to work on a variety of projects, ranging from internal IT system implementation / enhancements, product development, and complex business change.

Responsibilities will include:

* Facilitating communication between project stakeholders and workstreams – including managing dependencies, monitoring progress, and chairing effective meetings
* Supporting project governance – including preparing all relevant documentation, managing risk, managing changes, managing stage gates, weekly and monthly reporting, decision logging, and budget tracking
* Providing leadership to the project and workstream teams – including providing clarity of responsibilities, objectives & deliverables, maintaining focus according to the project vision, and providing the environment to enable project success
* Driving project planning and forecasting, and alignment with project timelines and constraints. Working with a variety of stakeholders to ensure that milestone plans and resource plans are maintained and up to date

Key Skills and Experience:

* Proven experience leading project teams to deliver positive outcomes to time, budget and quality
* Demonstrable and proven experience of leading projects to integrate people, processes and systems
* Experience of acting as a senior team member, coaching and mentoring less experienced project managers
* Ability to work with cross-functional teams, including senior stakeholders
