The role
As an Engineering Manager within Cavendish Nuclear, you’ll oversee projects related to decommissioning nuclear facilities, supporting the Continuous at Sea Deterrent, and aiding the operation and construction of nuclear power plants. Our goal is to clean up the nuclear legacy and support a future where nuclear energy contributes to national security, energy supply, and net zero commitments.
Day-to-day, you’ll lead planning and management of multi-discipline projects, coordinating tasks across teams. You will guide the engineering team to deliver technical solutions within budget and scope, from concept design through EPC (Engineering, Procurement, and Construction).
* Manage multi-discipline teams to ensure timely and efficient delivery of engineering work.
* Promote collaboration across engineering and other departments.
* Maintain strong relationships with customers, ensuring clear communication and resolving issues.
* Ensure engineering outputs meet technical standards and scope.
* Uphold health, safety, and environmental standards across the team.
* Manage resources and develop team capabilities to meet future demands, coaching and mentoring staff.
* Plan and execute project and technical audits to facilitate learning.
* Stay informed on industry best practices and lead cultural and engineering development initiatives.
Essential experience
* Proven management experience, including leading multi-discipline teams on various projects.
* Excellent communication skills for interfacing with diverse teams.
This is a full-time, permanent role (37 hours/week) with hybrid/flexible working arrangements.
Qualifications
* Engineering degree or equivalent in a relevant discipline, with significant experience.
The candidate must be able to obtain baseline security clearance.
