We are currently recruiting for an experienced and dynamic Director of Business Development to join our Global Commercial Team. Located in the UK, you will lead our efforts in expanding our viral vector CDMO services in the UK & Europe.
Our Commercial team works directly with prospective and current partners to provide strategic solutions enabling them to deliver life-changing gene therapy products to patients.
Your responsibilities in this role would be:
* Identifying and engaging potential customers in the gene therapy and vaccine sectors and fostering long-term relationships that meet OXB’s business objectives.
* Driving the lead generation process for your region.
* Building and maintaining strategic partnerships with key stakeholders and clients, including biotech companies, research institutions, and industry leaders, to expand awareness of OXB capabilities and drive long-term growth.
* Collaborating with the Global Commercial Operations on proposal preparations to win new business and partnering with Commercial Program Management teams to manage active customer programs.
* Leading contract negotiations with clients, including clinical and commercial supply, services agreements, and licensing agreements.
* Collaborating with the wider Global Commercial & Marketing Teams to create compelling value propositions and promotional materials.
* Developing and sharing local market expertise, conducting win/loss analysis, identifying opportunities for differentiation, and updating the competitive landscape in the CGT market.
Profile description:
You will need:
* A degree in Life Sciences, Business, PhD, or MBA.
* Proven experience in life sciences, pharmaceutical companies, CDMOs, or related sectors, preferably with experience in Cell and Gene therapies.
* Significant experience in business development, sales, or marketing roles within B2B sectors, ideally in pharmaceutical services.
* Knowledge of the emerging cell & gene therapy sector, preferably within a CDMO or similar business.
* Understanding of biologics process development and GMP manufacturing projects in Pharma & Biotech.
* Knowledge of commercial and legal contract terms used in customer agreements.
* Strong communication skills, public speaking, and cross-departmental collaboration abilities, both face-to-face and digitally.
* An appreciation for working within diverse international cultures.
