Overview
We are seeking an experienced and commercially focused Finance Manager to join a well-established company based in Gloucester. This role will play a key part in overseeing the financial operations of the group, ensuring robust reporting, compliance, and strategic financial management to support growth and profitability.
Key Responsibilities
• Oversee the preparation of monthly management accounts, consolidated group reporting, and financial statements.
• Lead the budgeting, forecasting, and cash flow planning processes across the group.
• Provide financial insight and analysis to support senior management in decision-making.
• Ensure compliance with statutory requirements, tax obligations, and internal controls.
• Manage the year-end audit process, liaising with external auditors.
• Support the board and senior leadership with financial modelling, business cases, and investment appraisals.
• Oversee and mentor finance team members, ensuring accuracy and efficiency in day-to-day financial operations.
• Monitor working capital, stock management, and margin analysis to drive performance.
• Business partner with operational teams, branch managers, and suppliers to align financial goals with commercial performance.
Skills & Experience
• Qualified accountant (ACA, ACCA, CIMA) with post-qualification experience in a similar role.
• Strong technical knowledge of financial reporting, consolidations, and compliance.
• Proven experience in multi-site or group structures, ideally within the retail or distribution sectors.
• Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills with a commercial mindset.
• Good initiative and a 'go-getter' attitude.
• Strong leadership, communication, and stakeholder management skills.
• Advanced Excel and financial systems knowledge.
