Offer description

A leading Independent School based in Twickenham; London is recruiting a Finance Administrator to provide the finance team support whilst covering maternity leave. The post holder will be responsible to the Bursar whilst assisting in the routine financial and accounting matters of the school.


Your duties will include:

* Ensuring suppliers’ databased s kept up to date
* Reconciling the purchase ledger at the end of the month and annually, as well as producing reports for auditors as required
* Processing invoices, maintaining up-to-date invoice records, and filing systems
* Preparing and processing all fee invoices whilst ensuring that the Billing Ledger is kept up to date
* Processing bank receipts
* Processing payroll for all staff monthly and producing all reporting in respect to payroll and pensions
* Dealing with petty cash requests from staff members and all banking including charity collections
* Supporting the Bursar in the preparation of annual budgets and audited accounts
* Cooperating with other team members and providing cover/assistance as required


The successful candidate profile:

* Experience working in the Education Sector is essential (School’s and MAT’s)
* Excellent financial knowledge and past experience
* Strong understanding of finance and administration within a School
* High attention to detail
* Experience using school management information system (SMIS)
* The postholder must have an Enhanced DBS, have the paper copy, and be on the update service


Salary: £29k

Length: ASAP until January 2026

Working pattern: Full-time (35 hours); with 6 weeks’ holiday

Location: Twickenham London (fully on-site)
