We're seeking an exceptional Delivery Suite Ward Manager to join our maternity leadership team at West Hertfordshire Teaching Hospitals NHS Trust.
This is a dual-role position, offering a 50/50 split between clinical and managerial responsibilities, enabling you to stay hands-on while developing key leadership and operational skills.
Main duties of the job
As Ward Manager, you'll lead and inspire a team of dedicated midwives and maternity support workers, ensuring excellent standards of care are maintained at all times.
Working closely with the Matron for Delivery Suite and Triage, you will help oversee the safe running of the area, drive quality improvement, and support the ongoing development of our workforce.

Job responsibilities
We are looking for a Registered Midwife with significant experience in intrapartum care. Someone with proven leadership experience in a clinical setting, with strong communication, decision-making, and problem-solving skills.
They will have a sound knowledge of safeguarding, infection control, and clinical governance, and be apositive, compassionate leader who thrives in a busy and evolving environment.
Person Specification
Education/Qualification
* Registered Midwife with a UK NMC Pin
* Understanding of BSOTS
* Masters level qualification or equivalent level of knowledge and experience
Knowledge
* Sound theoretical and practical knowledge of the role of the Midwife
* Up to date knowledge of: Safeguarding children's practices
Experience
* Recent experience encompassing a wide range of Midwifery Practice
* Demonstrated leadership in intrapartum care
