There is a fantastic opportunity for a HCA to develop their skills in Trauma and Orthopaedics, delivering specialised care to Spinal patients and post operative orthopaedic patients within a supportive, friendly ward environment. The successful applicant will be supported by our nursing team to build on and develop skills, including support with completion of care certificate, band 3 clinical skills, pre and post operative care, and spinal care. We are focused on learning and development and will support you to become the best Health care provider you can be. Responsibilities
* Provide high-quality, safe, and compassionate care to patients under the supervision of registered professionals. This includes assisting with personal care, nutrition, wound care, mobility, and infection control, as well as monitoring and recording vital signs, supporting patients with toileting and hygiene needs, and maintaining accurate documentation (electronic and paper).
* Communicate effectively with patients, families, and the multidisciplinary team; participate in audits and service improvement initiatives; and support new staff and learners while upholding the Trust’s PRIDE values.
* Demonstrate awareness of own professional responsibilities and uphold the PRIDE values consistently.
* Demonstrate effective, clear, and accurate communication with patients and their families to keep them informed of care plans.
* Act as a positive role model at all times and understand duty of candour; escalate to senior colleagues when required.
* Contribute to the development of local protocols and guidelines.
* Identify patients at risk of skin damage (e.g., moisture lesions, pressure ulcers, skin tears) and document skin condition, escalating as needed.
* Ensure accurate completion of patient documentation throughout the treatment and care journey (admission to discharge).
Qualifications & Expectations
* Experience in a fast-paced, demanding role is desirable.
* UK professional registration where required by the role.
* Ability to work flexibly across clinical areas while adhering to Trust policies and procedures.
