Are you a commercially savvy food technologist or technical sales professional with a passion for bakery ingredients? We’re looking for a Technical Business Development Manager to join our growing team and help us rise to the next level in the UK.
Our clients are leading supplier of high-quality bakery ingredients to artisanal bakers, industrial manufacturers, and foodservice providers across the UK. With a legacy of innovation and a focus on clean label, functional, and specialty ingredients, we partner with clients to develop solutions that deliver quality, consistency, and creativity.
As our Technical BDM, you'll act as the bridge between product innovation and client success—combining your bakery knowledge with strategic sales skills. Your mission is to identify new business opportunities, grow key accounts, and support customers with technical expertise that drives product performance and differentiation.
Responsibilities:
* Develop and execute a strategic growth plan for your territory.
* Build and manage strong relationships with bakery manufacturers, R&D teams, and procurement specialists.
* Provide technical support, troubleshooting, and formulation advice for our full range of bakery ingredients.
* Work closely with internal NPD, applications, and marketing teams to deliver customized solutions.
* Attend trade shows, customer trials, and technical workshops across the UK.
Requirements:
* A strong background in food science, bakery technology, or a related field.
* Commercial experience in B2B sales or technical account management within bakery or food ingredients. Or customer facing experience with expertise in bakery ingredients.
* Hands-on knowledge of bakery processes (bread, cakes, pastry, gluten-free, etc.).
* Confidence in presenting, negotiating, and influencing decision-makers.
* A self-starter mentality with the ability to work autonomously and travel regularly.
