The Opportunity A leading engineering consultancy is seeking a Senior Mechanical Engineer to support a major nuclear project, working as part of an integrated delivery team. This position offers the chance to influence engineering outcomes on a high?profile programme that will play a vital role in future site safety and long?term asset integrity. This role would suit candidates currently working as Mechanical Engineers, Senior Mechanical Engineers, Mechanical Design Engineers, Plant Engineers, Project Engineers, Design Leads, Mechanical Systems Engineers, Nuclear Engineers, or Equipment Engineers. Your duties and responsibilities will be Developing and delivering mechanical engineering design outputs—including specifications, drawings, assessments, and analyses—to meet functional, legal, and performance requirements. Ensuring engineering solutions are safe, practical, fully integrated, and aligned with project and plant configuration needs. Producing validated and verified design deliverables that uphold design intent and support seamless manufacture, installation, commissioning, operation, and decommissioning. Supporting the resolution of manufacturing, testing, and inspection queries, working closely with suppliers and internal specialists where required. Providing technical direction to designers and coordinating multidisciplinary interfaces, particularly with CE&I colleagues.You will have the following qualifications and experience Proficiency with Autodesk Inventor and experience using Autodesk Vault (Vault Basic or Vault Pro) for document and model management. Strong understanding of engineering drawing standards, including GPS/ISO/BS 8888. Demonstrated experience supporting manufacturing, inspection, testing activities, and addressing associated technical issues. Hands?on knowledge of plant layout, equipment installation, alignment, and preparation for testing at works and site level.
