Job Summary
We are seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic Cafe Assistant to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a passion for hospitality and a strong commitment to providing excellent customer service. As a Cafe Assistant, you will play a vital role in creating a welcoming atmosphere for our guests while assisting with food preparation, serving, and maintaining the overall cleanliness of the cafe.

The Hub and Spoke is a serviced office business and conferencing centre that provides a variety of business solutions to local companies, including hot desking, meeting rooms and permanent, private offices. This business also runs a café, which serves food and drink to both office users and the general public.
We are excited to be recruiting for a part-time Café Assistant to help with the continued growth plan for the business. This is zero-hours contract, and we can offer flexibility over the hours work, but we envisage that we will be able to offer around 25 hours per week. This is an ideal role for someone looking to fit their hours around school-times, as we are open from, Monday-Friday
* Wage of £12.50 per hour, dependent upon age

Duties
* Assist in food preparation, ensuring high standards of food safety and hygiene are maintained at all times.
* Serve customers efficiently and courteously, providing an exceptional dining experience.
* Support catering activities as required, helping to set up and serve at events.
* Maintain cleanliness and organisation of the cafe area, including tables, counters, and equipment.
* Collaborate with team members to ensure smooth operations during busy periods.
* Handle cash transactions accurately and responsibly.
* Engage with customers to build rapport and encourage repeat visits.
* Assist in training new staff members as needed.
Qualifications
* Previous experience in a restaurant or cafe environment is preferred.
* Knowledge of food safety regulations and best practices is essential.
* Experience as a barista or in catering is an advantage.
* Strong communication skills with a friendly and approachable demeanour.
* Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team.
* A passion for hospitality and delivering outstanding customer service.
