A large FM and Maintenance contractor managing a contract for the Ministry of Justice to maintain UK Prisons sites offers an exciting opportunity.
Position: Project Manager (Temporary with potential for permanent)
This role requires security clearance and a clear criminal record, with candidates having lived and worked in the UK for at least the last 5 years.
The Role
We seek an experienced Hard FM project manager to oversee refurbishment projects across various sites in the West Midlands. Projects include re-purposing facilities, replacing kitchens and bathrooms, and refurbishing living accommodation blocks. The role involves ensuring compliance and managing multiple projects simultaneously, whether small refurbishment works or larger projects.
As a Project Manager, you will ensure projects are delivered safely, on time, and within budget, managing safety protocols, CDM regulations, risks, issues, and change requests.
Key Responsibilities
1. Conduct pre-construction meetings with senior management and clients to define project requirements, timelines, and budgets.
2. Develop and adjust detailed project plans to meet evolving needs.
3. Assign tasks based on team members' skills and experience, including supply chain coordination.
4. Monitor external contractors to ensure timely project delivery.
5. Prepare and present project status reports to stakeholders.
6. Collaborate effectively with all project stakeholders for smooth implementation.
7. Develop leadership, customer relations, and communication skills.
8. Ensure statutory compliance throughout project execution.
Candidate Profile
Ideal candidates will have experience in Hard FM, refurbishment, or small works maintenance, with knowledge of pre-construction and CDM regulations.
* Degree/NVQ Level 6 or equivalent in construction, management, or engineering.
* IOSH or NEBOSH certification.
* Excellent IT skills.
* SMSTS certification.
This role is subject to enhanced security vetting and is available via PAYE or Umbrella PAYE options.
