Working closely with the Director of Medical Education and Head of Teaching Academy the postholder will have managerial responsibility for Medical Education, providing strategic planning, leadership and direction to deliver both Postgraduate and Undergraduate training.

The successful candidate will join a well established and innovative team, who are continually driving forward the quality of Education in the Trust. Working as part of the senior leadership team in the Medical Directors Directorate, the postholder will establish strong connections with colleagues in Research and Innovation and Knowledge Management, as well as across a range of higher education providers locally.
Main duties of the job
To be responsible for the interpretation and implementation of national policies and current legislation relating to medical training and service level agreements, ensuring the operational delivery and standards are met within the Medical Education team.To influence and lead on the strategic development of Postgraduate medical education, supporting the Director of Medical Education, Clinical Tutor, Foundation Programme Directors and College Tutors.To influence and lead on the strategic development of Undergraduate medical education, supporting the Head of Academy, Deputies and Year Leads.To provide specialist knowledge, advice and guidance on postgraduate and undergraduate medical education related matters for all medical staff and managers in the Trust.To manage a broad range of medical training and teaching programmes and complex educational activities.To act and make decisions as the Trust representative at a range of meetings, both internal and external on Medical Education related matters.
