Job overview Secondment Opportunity: Specialist Biomedical Scientist - Clinical Biochemistry/Immunology (12 Months) Applications are invited from suitably qualified HCPC-registered Biomedical Scientists for a 12-month secondment opportunity within Clinical Biochemistry/Immunology. The successful candidate will hold a BSc in Biomedical Science (or equivalent) and be registered with the Health and Care Professions Council (HCPC). Applicants should have relevant experience in Clinical Biochemistry have completed the IBMS Specialist Portfolio in the relevant discipline, or be able to demonstrate equivalent knowledge, skills, and experience working at Band 6 level. Evidence of continuing professional development (CPD) will be required and assessed at interview. This secondment provides an excellent development opportunity to gain or consolidate specialist experience within Clinical Biochemistry/Immunology. Applicants must have the support of their current line manager prior to applying, and confirmation of this support will be required. Main duties of the job The successful applicant will be part of a team working in the various sections of this busy fully automated Blood Sciences/Chemical Pathology Department based at Stoke Mandeville Hospital, you will also be required to work at our laboratory based at Wycombe Hospital. The department is equipped with modern analysers and has standardised equipment at both sites. Successful candidate will be expected to work cross discipline after appropriate training and will be required to participate in the out of hours shift rota.
