Job overview
We are recruiting to 3 full time reception posts within the central team based in Preston.
The post holder will work as a member of the Reception Team, meeting and greeting patients, booking patients onto the Blithe/Lilie system in preparation for their appointment, booking appointments via the telephone line, and assisting in the day-to-day running of the reception to maintain an effective and efficient office system. The post holder will be under the direction and management of the Administration Team Leader.
Main duties of the job
Face to face and telephone contact with members of the public will be undertaken and the checking of clinic registration forms to ensure they have been completed correctly. Such information will include patient date of birth, address, GP and telephone numbers. The post holder will also assist in the management of negative results.

Education and Qualification
* ECDL qualification or equivalent and use of Microsoft packages i.e. Word, Excel, Outlook
Experience and Knowledge
* Experience in a clerical setting in the last 2 years
* Experience of dealing with the general public in the last 12 months
* Experience of multidisciplinary team working
* Understanding of confidentiality guidance
* Previous administration work in health care setting i.e., hospital/community
* Experience of database and spreadsheets
Skills and Ability
* Evidence of good communication abilities both written and verbal
* Ability to work on own initiative
* Ability to work as part of a team
* Ability to understand and carry out instructions
* Good organisational skills
* Ability to work with health professionals

Please note, you will be required to repay the cost on appointment. This will be collected via a salary deduction. You can choose whether to pay this over 1-3 months from your salary or as a one‑off payment on commencement in post. The level of check required depends on the role that you have been offered. Currently the charges are - Basic DBS check £25.50, Standard DBS check £25.50 and Enhanced DBS check £53.50.
You are encouraged where possible, to register for the DBS update service. This is an annual registration fee of £16. By registering for the update service you will not have the additional cost of repeated disclosures.
Should you withdraw your application, you may be required to reimburse the cost of the DBS check.
DBS checks remain free of charge for volunteer positions.
