Overview
We are seeking a patient and energetic Personal Assistant to support our petite 15-year-old daughter, who is mobile but non-verbal and faces several challenges including epilepsy, severe learning difficulties, dysphasia, and incontinence. The role is both rewarding and essential in ensuring her comfort, safety, and enjoyment in daily life.
Responsibilities
* Personal Care: Assist with washing, bathing, dressing, and other personal hygiene routines.
* Feeding: Support during meal times to ensure she is fed safely and comfortably.
* Safety: Maintain a secure environment both at home and during outings.
* Activities: Plan and facilitate engaging activities and outings that promote social interaction and enjoyment.
* Additional Duties: Provide general support as needed to help her lead as independent a life as possible.
Qualifications and Experience
* Compassionate, patient, and energetic with a genuine desire to support someone with special needs.
* Experience in personal care and supporting individuals with similar challenges is highly desirable.
* Ability to provide care and support in a respectful and dignified manner.
* Must have a valid driving licence and access to a car, as you will be required to drive her for outings and activities.
* Training in epilepsy management and Buccal care is preferred but not essential; full training will be provided.
Schedule, Commitment, and Compensation
* Schedule: Ad-hoc hours available during the week, weekends, and school holidays, with a primary focus on Saturdays.
* Minimum Commitment: 6 hours per week.
* Rate: £13.15 per hour.
