About the role
Equans is looking for an Area Technical Services Manager to join our team in Tyne and Wear on a permanent basis. The role is full‑time, 37.5 hours per week. Compensation includes a competitive salary, company vehicle or allowance, bonus and benefits package.
Responsibilities
* Manage the onsite technical team, including sickness, absence, holidays, and involvement in appraisals and performance management.
* Produce monthly reports for the Account Manager(s) and ensure minimum service and unavailability deductions on all projects.
* Ensure full compliance with relevant policies, procedures, codes of practice, statutory requirements, and maintain professional standards.
* Develop and implement a dynamic planned preventive maintenance system to meet changing service requirements and plant demands.
* Ensure both planned and reactive maintenance is carried out within budgetary, quality, service level, and legislative constraints.
* Act as Technical Adviser to the Maintenance Team and relevant groups within the Company regarding management and operation of engineering services, including development and maintenance of contingency plans.
* Ensure risk assessments and method statements are in place as required.
* Maintain the CAFM system, ensuring all reactive and planned preventive maintenance tasks are completed within project agreements.
* Deliver a proactive subcontractor management strategy to ensure successful, cost‑effective, timely service delivery into the contract.
Qualifications
* ONC/HNC in Facilities Management (or equivalent specialist trade) or equivalent experience.
* IOSH Managing Safely qualification.
* Proven experience managing an FM Operations/Technical Services Team.
* Experience liaising directly with clients on similar FM projects.
* Experience in undertaking AP/RP duties within similar FM projects.
* Knowledge of relevant legislation and industry guidelines.
* Exceptional stakeholder management skills.
