NQ Defence Solicitor – Up to £45,000 – REF: 868242AL
We are working on behalf of a highly regarded law firm to recruit a Newly Qualified Solicitor for their expanding Crime team. This is a fantastic opportunity to launch your career in a supportive and collaborative environment, handling a varied caseload and gaining exposure to advocacy and client representation.
Responsibilities
* Managing a varied caseload of criminal defence matters for both private and publicly funded clients
* Attending court hearings and representing clients at police station
* Conducting advocacy in Magistrates Court (training and support provided)
* Preparing clear, accurate legal advice and documentation
* Liaising with clients, courts, and third parties to progress cases efficiently
* Supporting senior lawyers and contributing to team objectives
* Ensuring compliance with regulatory and quality standards
The Ideal Candidate
* SRA or CILEX qualified with criminal practice rights
* Strong understanding of Criminal Law and court procedures
* Excellent communication and client care skills
* Ability to manage tasks and meet deadlines
* IT proficiency and strong organisational skills
* A proactive, team-focused approach
* Duty Solicitor status or willingness to work towards it
