As a Care Worker with Housing 21 you'll be part of a friendly, supportive team as you work together to support our residents. Once you're at work that's it - no travelling between calls as residents live independently in their own apartments within our schemes, which also offer communal lounges, gardens, cafés/bistros and hair salons for them to enjoy. Working with familiar residents and colleagues every day, you'll build strong relationships and feel part of the Extra Care family. We want to make sure you feel valued too and have developed our offer to set us apart from the wider care sector.
Responsibilities
* Provide care and support to residents living in Housing 21 schemes, focusing on enabling independence in their own apartments and use of communal facilities.
* Support with household and domestic tasks, such as laundry, shopping, cleaning, and financial transactions (e.g., paying bills).
* Assist with meals, drinks, and snacks where necessary; encourage and enable residents to follow agreed care plans.
* Assist residents with getting up in the morning, provide personal care (washing/bathing and dressing), assist with undressing and getting to bed in the evening; help ensure medication is taken as required.
* Put resident wellbeing at the heart of the service, go the extra mile to help residents live their best lives, and keep managers and key agencies informed of progress.
Requirements / Qualifications
* To be kind and friendly with good written and verbal English communication skills.
* Commitment to undertake necessary further training; reliability and flexibility; the ability to use your initiative; and the ability to remain calm under pressure.
* No specific experience or qualifications required for the Care Worker role; a positive attitude and kind manner are valued. Experience caring for a relative/friend, raising children, or helping a neighbour with shopping or gardening demonstrates relevant skills.
