Cover Supervisor (Secondary School)
Location: Crosby, Merseyside
Contract: Term-time only | Full-time
Start: ASAP until the end of the academy year (17th July 2026)
An oversubscribed and successful 11-18 Church of England secondary academy in Crosby is seeking to appoint a Cover Supervisor to join its supportive and forward-thinking team.
This role is ideal for graduates, aspiring teachers, or experienced Cover Supervisors looking to gain further classroom experience in a positive secondary school environment.
The role
As a Cover Supervisor, you will:
* Supervise classes during the short-term absence of teaching staff
* Deliver pre-prepared lesson materials across a range of subjects
* Maintain a calm, purposeful learning environment
* Manage behaviour in line with the school's policies
* Support pupils to stay engaged and on task
To be considered for This Role, you must have:
* Previous experience working with secondary-aged students, or experience managing groups of young people in a professional setting (preferred)
* Confidence in managing classroom behaviour
* An enhanced Child Workforce DBS on the update service (or willingness to apply for a new one)
* A full, up-to-date CV
* A minimum of two professional references
* The legal right to work in the UK
* An overseas police check (if applicable)
Qualified Teacher Status is not required for this role.
Pay rate
* Up to £110 per day, depending on experience
