We are excited to be looking for a Shop Assistant for our Hunts Cross - Liverpool store, on a 22.5 hour contract over 3 days a week.
We are seeking a passionate and motivated individual to help our store reach its full potential.
We want someone who can use their initiative and is enthusiastic about charity retail and fashion.
As a Shop Assistant, you will:
* Help promote donations and sales to maximize profits
* Represent Mencap as an efficient and charitable organization by ensuring your actions reflect Mencap's aims and values
* Encourage stock generation from the local community and donors
* Sign up donors to the Gift Aid scheme and ensure maximum income through Gift Aid
* Assist in achieving profit targets by maximizing sales and managing costs effectively
* Maintain the store's high standards of presentation
* Build an effective volunteer team and provide training, development, work reviews, and appraisals for paid staff and volunteers
* Handle all financial transactions, cash handling, and health and safety responsibilities
To be successful as a Shop Assistant, you will:
* Be flexible with working hours, including weekends and bank holidays as needed
* Be willing to travel for team meetings, training, and supporting the setup of new stores
* Be passionate about Mencap's values and committed to the success of our retail brand
