Overview

Football Video Systems Operator role at Hawk-Eye Innovations Ltd. Based in England with regular travel across the UK & Europe. This is a Full-Time, Permanent position.

Location: Based in England (major cities near airports). For international travel requirements, it would be ideal to live near an easy transport link to European Cities.

Salary: A starting salary of £26,990 (+ up to 10% bonus). You will have the opportunity to increase your salary as your experience and skills grow within the role.

Travel: Regular travel across the UK & Europe. Occasional work at our head office in Basingstoke.

Expected Start Date: October/November 2025


Why Hawk-Eye & Why Football

As a Football Systems Operator, you will be working on-site at football stadiums in your region, contributing to the delivery of our services to Premier League and Championship matches. With experience, you may be involved in more tournaments across the UK, Europe and beyond (e.g., UEFA Champions League, Europa League and FIFA Competitions).

The role encompasses the installation and operation of our technology at matches, with responsibility for our systems. You should be prepared to work long hours on weekends and midweek evenings, as matches occur frequently.

Initially you will focus on our VAR service as a Video Technical Guarantee, with exposure to other services as you grow within the team. We provide technical training, support, and full exposure to our systems, and encourage development and progression to make an impact.


What Does A Typical Day Look Like?

* Pre-match planning and driving the van to the stadium before match day
* Setting up Hawk-Eye technology in the stadium (may include rigging cameras and running cables)
* Pre-match setup, checks and calibration of the systems in accordance with standard procedures
* Liaising with stadium staff, match officials and host broadcasters on-site
* Monitoring the systems during the match
* Monitoring hardware and software performances, troubleshooting and reporting issues
* Owning the system on-site and representing Hawk-Eye
* During the off-season, building and maintaining hardware and equipment
* Assisting with installation and testing of new products and services

Essential Skills

* Must have a driving licence
* Understanding video flow - capture and output through several hardware methods
* Knowledge of working with multi-camera capture systems and software
* Strong understanding of SDI equipment and functionality
* Understanding of basic PC troubleshooting and components


Desirable Skills

* Strong knowledge of videohub functionality and video distribution
* Competency in working with several software packages simultaneously for service delivery
* Experience in working with streaming software and hardware
* Experience working with video production in live environments
