The Role – 1:1 SEN Teaching Assistant (Portsmouth)
As a 1:1 Teaching Assistant, you will:
* Provide dedicated 1:1 support for a pupil with additional needs (SEN)
* Support learning, behaviour, and emotional development
* Implement tailored strategies set by the SENCO and external professionals
* Build a strong, consistent relationship to improve engagement and outcomes
* Assist with behaviour management and pastoral support
* Work closely with teachers and the SEN team
What We’re Looking For
* Experience as a Teaching Assistant, Learning Support Assistant, SEN TA, or Support Worker (desirable)
* Candidates from care, residential, support work, or youth work backgrounds encouraged to apply
* Patient, resilient, and empathetic approach
* Strong communication and teamwork skills
* Passion for SEN education and supporting children with additional needs
* Proactive, adaptable, and committed
Experience Level
* Experienced SEN Teaching Assistants / TAs – highly desirable
