Senior Staff Nurse (West Ward – Haematology) – Secondment
Band 6 – Secondment for 6 months (maternity cover). Full time – 37.5 hours per week.
Salary: £38,682 – £46,580 per annum (annual rate).

Key Responsibilities
* Facilitate a coordinated, high‑quality outpatient service to haematology patients in consultation with the ward manager and Clinical Nurse Specialists.
* Support the Ward Sister and manage the day‑to‑day running of the unit in her absence.
* Provide efficient, effective and evidence‑based nursing care to patients.
* Recognise life‑threatening reactions and act appropriately.
* Organise workload in line with clinical priorities.
* Work autonomously and as part of a multidisciplinary team.
Qualifications & Experience
* Registered Nurse.
* Post‑registration haematology or oncology experience of at least 2 years.
* SaCT trained.
* Desirable: Chemotherapy trained.
* Evidence of leadership/management and speciality development.
* Experience in mentoring, facilitation, teaching, assessing and coaching.
* Significant recent experience in a post‑qualification speciality.
Essential Skills
* Good IT literacy.
* Excellent clinical skills in haematology.
* Strong time‑management and communication skills.
