Overview
Dental Officer - Paediatric & Special Care Dentistry (Band A) – fixed term post – 12 months. 37.5 hours per week, 1.0 WTE (0.4 Paediatrics and 0.6 Special Care Dentistry). Full or part-time applications welcome. Salary £54 117 - £81 174 (pro rata if part-time).

Responsibilities
* Undertake routine dental care for children and adults with a wide range of disability and impairment who cannot receive their care in the General Dental Service.
* Provide dental care for patients with high levels of dental disease and dental anxiety who are referred by General Dental Practitioners and other health and social care workers.
* Treatment is often provided under general anaesthesia or conscious sedation and may also be delivered in a domiciliary setting.
* Work within the Lothian Public Dental Service, part of the Lothian Oral Health Service, alongside consultant-led hospital services and the Oral Health Improvement Team.
* Collaborate with experienced colleagues in the Public Dental Service and be supported by the senior team.
* Demonstrate experience in working with children and vulnerable adults and maintain a keen interest in developing skills in these areas.
Qualifications and experience
* Current full GDC registration.
* Experience in working with children and vulnerable adults; keen to develop further in these areas.
