Job Title : IDA in Brickwork

Department : Construction

Reporting to : Curriculum Team Leader

Salary : £25,276 - £30,390 per annum

Annual Leave : 30 days per annum

Contractual hours: Full time, Part time or Hourly paid

Basis : Permanent

Pension : Local Government Pension Scheme (LGPS)


The Role

We are seeking an enthusiastic Instructor Demonstrator Assessor to support the delivery of competence-based learning programmes. You will work alongside teaching staff to train, assess and support students in workshops and real-world environments, helping them develop the practical skills needed to meet industry standards.

Key Responsibilities

* Train, demonstrate, assess and support students on competence based/skills based learning programmes devised.
* Assist individual student/trainees in the development of their individual learning plan in order to achieve their objectives and to meet external set standards.
* Maintain safe working practices.
* The upkeep of learning resources/equipment used within the learning programme; reporting faults and repair to the appropriate technician/manager.
* Support the student application and enrolment process in liaison with teaching staff and administrative staff.
* Assist in the guidance of students within the learning programmes, including carrying out 1/1 tutorials.
* Contribute to promotional materials and activities within the learning programmes and publicity and public relations events, e.g. open days.
* Assist with College administration, including contribution to statistical returns such as retention rates, assessment results and student destinations.
* Participate in appropriate team meetings and liaise with all staff, students and external agencies as necessary to fulfil the duties of the post.

Targeted Retention Scheme

Eligible FE teachers in their first five years could receive a £2,000–£6,000 Targeted Retention Incentive for teaching key subjects ( construction, chemistry, computing/ICT, early years, engineering, maths, physics). Check full criteria and application window on GOV.UK.
