SENDCo job summary
Over the last year, we have reviewed and revised our SEND provision to meet the increasing number of students with SEND (including increasing numbers of students with Education and Health Care Plans (EHCPs). This has included developing our own SEND Profile to summarise student needs and to link into the ADPR provision and review cycle. This would be a perfect opportunity for an experienced SENDCo wanting to develop the support for SEND students or someone with a passion for SEND to lead and develop our provision from Middle School to Secondary provision. We are keen to appoint someone who has either completed the NPQ SENDCo qualification or is committed to completing this during the first year of appointment. We are also looking to continue to develop the strategic role of the SENDCo and as part of this development, the SENDCo will be part of the Senior Leadership Team. This will ensure that all aspects of SEND provision are integrated into the whole-school leadership and planning of the school.
Commitment to safeguarding
We are committed to the safeguarding and promotion of children's welfare. We also have a sincere commitment to equal opportunity and to the celebration of diversity, including in our staff recruitment. We welcome applications from all sections of our community very warmly, and we recognise the huge strength and opportunity that comes from diversity in all aspects of our make-up. We will need to obtain references in advance of interview for any candidate short- listed, and all job offers are subject to satisfactory enhanced Disclosure and Barring Service clearance.
