Operational Project Manager (Full Time)
At HistologiX, we support clients' cutting‑edge research, helping innovative biopharmaceuticals, monoclonal antibodies, biomarkers and immuno‑oncology treatments gain regulatory approval. As a niche GLP and GCP‑compliant laboratory, our experienced scientific team provides specialist immunohistochemistry (IHC), histology, digital pathology and image‑analysis solutions to pharmaceutical and biotechnology companies worldwide.
To drive operational efficiency and project visibility, we are looking for an Operational Project Manager who will manage day‑to‑day operations of multiple non‑regulatory, GLP and GCP research studies in a contract research environment. The successful candidate will coordinate projects, support Study Directors and ensure work is completed on time, within scope, and on budget.
Key Responsibilities & Duties
* Operational Leadership: Develop positive working relationships and maintain open communication channels with all internal colleagues, liaising closely with Study Directors, QA, Finance and other teams.
* Oversee day‑to‑day research operations, coordinating activities across lab teams to deliver client projects efficiently.
* Project Planning & Scheduling: Create detailed schedules for each new project to optimally utilise staff and equipment, meet timelines, budgets and milestones; identify potential risks, escalated issues and develop mitigation strategies.
* Financial Management & Reporting: Work closely with Study Directors and Finance to manage invoicing promptly, monitor and report KPIs and outputs in line with project costs and milestones, and identify process efficiencies.
* Future Implementation of Project Management Tool: Implement a digital project management tool, train the wider team and champion ongoing compliance; educate others on best practice to drive continuous improvement.
Essential Skills and Attributes
* Experience: Proven project management experience, ideally in a contract research environment.
* Communication: Strong oral and written communication, leadership, negotiation, problem‑solving; adept at preparing reports, running effective meetings, and delivering engaging presentations.
* Organisation: Excellent organisational skills, attention to detail, ability to work independently, manage multiple tasks, prioritize workloads and meet deadlines.
* Teamwork: Collaborative, supportive team member with flexibility and adaptability.
* Technical Skills: Proficiency in project management software and IT systems, including MS Office.
* Problem‑Solving: Strong analytical skills, proactive approach to anticipating challenges and developing solutions.
* Education: Degree or higher in life sciences or business administration (preferred).
The role will be based at BioCity Nottingham, with regular business hours.
