Overview

The MAFI Mission: Where Faith Meets Innovation

Since 1945, MAFI has been delivering help, hope and healing to isolated communities, bridging the gap between despair and renewal. With a fleet of 116 aircraft, we connect the world’s most remote regions with medical care, disaster relief, education, and the message of Christ. Behind every flight is a strong engineering team—and that’s where you come in.

Your Mission, Should You Choose to Accept It:You will lead the charge in creating and embedding a unified reliability engineering framework across MAF to boost aircraft availability, maintenance efficiency, and fleet safety. This mission involves identifying and managing data quality, analysing failure trends, and driving root cause investigations. You'll work closely with others, influencing fleet standards and maintenance programs, streamlining reports, and guiding key people—to help turn data into smarter technical decisions. Along the way, you'll monitor and report on fleet-wide performance to meet regulatory standards, with occasional international travel (up to 2 weeks a year) to support the mission of MAF.

Responsibilities

You will lead the development and implementation of a reliability engineering framework across MAF to enhance aircraft availability, maintenance efficiency, airworthiness, and overall fleet safety. Taking a proactive approach, you will identify the best data sources, define and enforce data quality standards, and ensure consistent data collection and reporting practices. You will analyse reliability trends, detect functional failures, and conduct thorough root cause investigations to recommend and follow through on practical, effective solutions. Collaborating closely with the IT team, you will help automate data extraction and reporting processes, enabling more efficient and insightful analysis.

You will also play a key role in influencing and equipping Continuing Airworthiness teams across programmes by providing training and building their capacity to interpret and apply data insights. Your work will involve evaluating recurring failures, performing ongoing risk analysis, and identifying systemic issues that affect operational performance. You will foster strong working relationships with a range of internal and external stakeholders, including technical teams, the Quality Department, and Original Equipment Manufacturer, to drive improvements in maintenance practices, fleet utilisation, and logistics.

Additionally, you will prepare and present detailed reliability reports that meet both internal standards and external regulatory requirements, providing clear visibility into technical flight interruptions, component failure trends, and operational reliability metrics.

This role requires participation in the spiritual life of MAF—through prayer, biblical reflection, and living out MAF’s evangelical Christian values in your work and daily life.
