You will manage a stimulating and varied caseload spanning public law childcare, SEND Tribunal work and wider advisory responsibilities. This role will suit an individual who enjoys early involvement in cases, constructive problem‑solving and working closely with social care and education colleagues.
You will work in a culture that values early legal advice, encourages innovation and invests in developing strong working relationships across services.
Key responsibilities include
* delivering timely, clear and high‑quality legal advice to Children’s Social Care and SEND services
* drafting, preparing and reviewing court and tribunal documentation to a high professional standard
* progressing public law childcare cases and managing evidence effectively
* advising on SEND Tribunal matters and education law, providing confident and specialist guidance
* working closely with courts, Cafcass, legal representatives and multi‑agency partners
* undertaking advocacy on behalf of the council where appropriate
What you will need
* substantial experience in SEND Tribunal and education law
* experience in public law childcare and managing a busy caseload
* ability to communicate clearly, build effective working relationships and enjoy collaborative problem‑solving

Hours: 37 per week as part of a full‑time, permanent contract. Please note: A relocation package is not available for this role.
