About the Role
We are hiring on behalf of our client for a highly motivated Data Science Intern to join a dynamic, solutions-driven data science team. This role is ideal for candidates who are passionate about applying data science to real-world business problems and can work effectively in a remote, collaborative environment aligned with Australia timezone.
Key Responsibilities
* Assist in designing and implementing data-driven solutions to solve business problems
* Work with structured and unstructured datasets to perform data cleaning, preprocessing, and analysis
* Build and evaluate machine learning models under guidance from senior data scientists
* Conduct exploratory data analysis (EDA) and present actionable insights
* Collaborate with cross-functional teams including engineering, product, and business stakeholders
* Contribute to data pipelines, dashboards, and reporting tools
* Document workflows, methodologies, and findings clearly
Required Qualifications
* Currently pursuing or recently completed a degree in Data Science, Computer Science, Statistics, Mathematics, or related field
* Strong foundation in Python (Pandas, NumPy, Scikit-learn)
* Understanding of machine learning concepts (regression, classification, clustering)
* Experience with data visualization tools (Matplotlib, Seaborn, or similar)
* Familiarity with SQL and working with databases
* Strong analytical thinking and problem-solving skills
* Ability to work remotely in UK time zones
Preferred Qualifications
* Exposure to deep learning frameworks (TensorFlow, PyTorch)
* Experience with cloud platforms (AWS, GCP, or Azure)
* Knowledge of real-world data science applications (e.g., recommendation systems, NLP, forecasting)
* Prior internship or project experience in data science or analytics
