Job Description
We are seeking a Safety & Reliability Engineer to join our team in Newport, Wales. In this role, you will collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to support critical programme milestones, ensuring the safety and reliability of our products. Your work will help our customers operate with confidence and support our Defence strategy.
Responsibilities include:
* Applying Safety & Reliability processes such as Hazard Analysis, Fault Tree Analysis (FTA), Failure Modes Effects & Criticality Analysis (FMECA), and Quantitative Risk Assessment.
* Collaborating with specialists and project teams, including Life Cycle Engineering and Design Engineering.
* Assessing system rejection causes to inform operational availability and cost considerations.
* Using statistical methods to evaluate system reliability and identify risks.
* Influencing design decisions by evaluating failures and their impact on safety and reliability.
Qualifications:
* A degree in a STEM subject or relevant engineering experience.
* Critical thinking skills regarding system failures and operational impacts.
* Comfort with statistical mathematics and uncertainty analysis.
* Knowledge of gas turbine engines, including design, operation, and environment.
* Logical problem-solving skills and data evaluation capabilities.
