Senior Relationship Manager (Financial Services)
£60k–£65k base | bonus | hybrid (London access)
Most roles in financial services push you into a lane.
Pure sales, or purely technical.
This sits between the two.
You’ll work with lenders, funders and investors, helping them understand risk, controls and how their portfolios are actually performing. It’s relationship-led, advisory, and built on credibility.
You don’t need to have done this exact role before.
What matters is where you’ve come from and how you operate.
You’re likely to be in one of the following environments:
• Asset or motor finance lenders
• Consumer lending or credit cards
• Insurance (ideally commercial lines)
• Loan servicing / portfolio servicing businesses
• Banks or specialist lenders in credit, risk or portfolio roles
And your role may look like:
• Relationship Manager / Account Manager / Client Manager
• Portfolio, servicing or operations-facing role
• Underwriter with strong stakeholder exposure
• Risk, audit or oversight with commercial awareness
The common thread is simple. You understand how lending or financial products work, you can hold your own with senior stakeholders, and you’re comfortable operating in a more nuanced, advisory environment.
This is not product selling.
No rate cards.
No high-volume KPI grind.
You’ll be front-ending client conversations, shaping problems, and bringing in technical specialists to deliver. Commercial, but considered.
The business is growing, revenue is strong, and they’ve already proven they can bring in people from adjacent backgrounds who get up to speed quickly.
If you’re in a larger corporate environment and want something more varied, more client-facing, and less rigid, this tends to resonate.
If you’re interested, I’d be happy to discuss how this could fit.
