As a Ranger, you’re a champion of nature conservation and the great outdoors, and you’ll play a crucial role in keeping the nation’s beloved countryside and coast in good shape, for wildlife and for people.
You should be willing to work some weekends, bank holidays and evenings, and be on call.
This is a fixed term contract due to end when the postholder returns to the role. At this point we cannot confirm exactly how long this contract will last, but it is unlikely to be more than 12 months.
What it's like to work here
The portfolio cares for over 6000 acres of land, including 5 moorland, 18 coastal and one urban mansion property. It creates a mosaic of habitats including coastal, woodlands, moorland and grasslands. These properties are connected through a number of National Trails which include the King Charles the third path, Cleveland Way and the Coast to Coast path. The portfolio also contains 8 farms, along with many more tenants involved in managing the portfolio. Sitting in the North York Moors National Park, some of the properties have upwards of 250,000 visitors per year.
