The Opportunity
We are seeking a candidate to join our Birmingham-based Environment and Planning team. You will be involved in screening, scoping, and coordinating Environmental Impact Assessments (EIAs), working with internal teams and external environmental stakeholders. Additionally, you will assist in preparing and delivering planning applications for various infrastructure and development projects. Responsibilities also include financial monitoring of projects, budget management, and supporting business development activities.
Our EIA team provides high-quality support across diverse development types, including residential, retail, storage and distribution, renewable energy, waste facilities, utilities, and minerals.
Our EIA Coordinators are experts who oversee and manage EIAs from conception through to post-submission. Wardell Armstrong is a registrant of the Institute of Environmental Management and Assessment (IEMA) EIA Quality Mark, reflecting our commitment to excellence in EIA services.
This is a full-time position, but part-time applicants will also be considered. We welcome candidates with 2-8 years of experience.

Candidate Requirements
The ideal candidate will hold a degree in an environmental discipline, with a second degree in Environmental Impact Assessment or Environmental Management preferred but not essential.
You should be motivated, organized, and possess strong communication skills. Flexibility and the ability to contribute to multiple work streams are important. A good understanding of the UK planning system, EIA Regulations, and experience in coordinating environmental assessments are required. Travel throughout the UK may be necessary.
