Consultant in General Paediatrics & Neonates with Neurology Interest
Join to apply for the Consultant in General Paediatrics & Neonates with Neurology Interest role at the Lehrman Cameron Studio, LLC. This is a replacement full‑time post to support the provision and development of acute paediatric services in West Wales.
With an interest in paediatric neurology, neurodisability and epilepsy, you will join colleagues in a dynamic and forward‑looking General Paediatrics department. The neonatal service has merged across the units in the three counties to enable BAPM standards to be met and to provide ongoing paediatric training. The SCBU (based at Glangwili) plays its part in the South Wales Neonatal network, with CHANTs providing transport.
Post location and duties
* Primarily based in Carmarthenshire with potential outreach clinics throughout the Health Board.
* Support on‑call cover and Consultant‑of‑the‑Week duties, overseeing PACU, Ward, HDU and SCBU care for children and young people based at Glangwili Hospital.
* Contribute to 1:12 consultant of the ward week covering acute paediatrics and SCBU, and safeguarding medical referrals.
* On‑call covering split weekends, 1 in 8 specific to this job at Glangwili Hospital.
* Clinic duties: general clinic plus two sub‑specialist interest clinics per week as agreed within your job plan.

* Full‑time position at Hywel Dda University Health Board, predominantly based at Glangwili Hospital, Carmarthen.
* Sessional allocation of maximum of 10 PAs: 8 DCC and 2 SPAs.
* Work will be discussed during initial job planning, allowing preferences and options to be explored.
