Overview

Join to apply for the Lead Psychologist Part Time role at Elysium Healthcare. You will be working 22.5 hours per week as a Part-time Clinical Psychologist at Pinhoe View, a 36 bed Acute Inpatient Hospital in Exeter, with support from a regional network of healthcare professionals. You will be leading the psychology department and working with the Multi-disciplinary Team (MDT) to offer patient-centred care and implement daily, meaningful activities to support recovery. This role entails assessing unwell service users, completing assessments, planning and implementing person-centred interventions, and ongoing evaluation of care and treatment. You will oversee the provision of the psychology service and support the team in facilitating assessment, formulation interventions and psychology groups in collaboration with the team. There are opportunities for professional growth with career development and learning opportunities, supported by a regional network of healthcare professionals. This role includes a welcome bonus of £5,000, with the added possibility of extending the workdays from three to four.


Responsibilities

* Participating in the assessment of referrals, and providing the initial assessment service to service users referred to the service.
* Undertaking high quality direct (assessment & therapeutic) and indirect (consultative, advisory, and evaluative) specialist psychological interventions and making autonomous clinical decisions.
* Working therapeutically with service users with complex presentations, undertaking assessments using a broad range of structured psychometric and semi-structured clinical methods.
* Formulating and implementing plans of specialist psychological treatment or management of patients’ mental health needs based on a multi-factorial psychological understanding and current evidence-based best practice.
* Being professionally and legally responsible and accountable for all aspects of clinical work and care.
* Maintaining high standards of care in all areas of practice and in accordance with the HCPC Code of Conduct, professional guidelines and Company Policies and Procedures.


To Be Successful In This Role, You\'ll Need

* BPS-recognised psychology degree
* HCPC registration
* Understanding of evidence-based psychological practice
* Experience applying psychological knowledge to a clinical setting
* Experience working with clients with cognitive deficits
* Experience conducting research and project work


Where You Will Be Working

Location: Pinhoe View, College Way, Exeter, EX1 3PZ

Pinhoe View is a purpose-built facility delivering a range of mental health services for adults with acute mental health conditions across two wards. The 24-hour acute inpatient service is supported by a full multidisciplinary team, specialising in assessment, treatment and stabilisation of significant mental health episodes and crisis.
