As a member of the IT Operations team, the post holder focuses on delivering high performing, reliable, responsive and resilient IT and Telephony services across all operational sites within the DHU organisation. The post holder will work within a team of DHU IT professionals supported by key 3rd party partners, with a commitment to quality service, excellence in healthcare and the ongoing development of the service.
Responsibilities
* Deliver 2nd line Technician support and operational maintenance across all technologies used by DHU, working closely with 3rd party partners to resolve incidents and problems
* Support IT project tasks and service improvements with internal stakeholders and 3rd parties to deliver system enhancements and new services
* Provide assistance and act as the escalation point for the service desk
* Monitor storage availability and carry out preventative maintenance as identified by 3rd parties, responding to critical alerts from the service monitoring toolset
* Contribute to the development of support documentation, preparing knowledge articles and reviewing existing processes
* Work as part of a team or independently in a technical environment without direct supervision
* Undertake occasional 1st Line duties when required
* Travel between DHU sites to provide IT and Telecoms services as needed to support project and business needs
* Provide on-site cover between 9:00am – 17:00, including bank holidays, or as agreed
* Be part of a 7-day-a-week on-call rota for IT and Telecoms services
To be a successful 2nd Line Technician you will need
* At least 2-3 years of experience in an IT 2nd line support role
* Technical experience equivalent to MCSE/MCSA in server support with evidence of continued professional development
* Educated to NVQ Level 3 or equivalent in an IT-related subject
* ITIL V3/4 Foundation
* Ability to produce high-quality documentation to enhance IT services
* Experience troubleshooting end-user networking incidents and escalating when required
* Experience of telephony services such as Mitel and/or CXOne
* On-site and remote hardware build and deployment (Intune, Apple Business Manager, Autopilot)
* Windows migration experience and strong knowledge of Microsoft Server operating systems including Active Directory (on-prem)
