Youth Worker – Reading

We’re working with a specialist school in Reading that supports young people with Social, Emotional and Mental Health (SEMH) needs, and they’re looking for a caring, resilient, and motivated Youth Worker to join their team.
This is a fantastic opportunity for someone who’s passionate about supporting young people, building positive relationships, and helping students overcome challenges both inside and outside the classroom.
What You’ll Be Doing:
* Supporting students with SEMH and behavioural needs throughout the school day
* Helping young people develop positive routines and emotional regulation skills
* Providing encouragement, guidance, and acting as a strong positive role model
* Working closely with teachers and pastoral staff to create a safe and supportive environment
* Supporting personalised intervention plans and EHCP outcomes
* Building trusted relationships that help students grow in confidence and independence
What We’re Looking For:
* A genuine passion for working with young people
* Someone patient, calm, and resilient under pressure
* A positive and empathetic approach to behaviour support
* Experience with children, young people, coaching, youth work, or support work is beneficial — but not essential
* Graduates or those considering careers in education, psychology, social work, or youth support are encouraged to apply
