The Stores Assistant plays a key role in ensuring the smooth running of our warehouse and stock control operations. Responsible for managing incoming and outgoing materials, maintaining accurate stock records, and supporting site teams with timely material preparation and deliveries, this role is essential to keeping projects on schedule.
Working closely with Operations Managers and Project Managers, the Stores Assistant ensures stock levels are controlled, organised, and readily available to support our retrofit and installation teams.
Key Responsibilities
Stock Control & Logistics
* Manage all incoming deliveries, checking and logging goods accurately within the stock control system.
* Oversee all outgoing stock, ensuring materials are recorded and issued correctly.
* Pick and prepare materials for operatives to collect for site works.
* Deliver materials to site when required.
* Monitor stock levels and provide regular updates to Operations and Project Managers.
* Produce monthly and quarterly stock reports.
Warehouse Management
* Maintain clean, organised, and safe stock control areas.
* Ensure materials are stored correctly and safely.
* Support efficient stock rotation and minimise waste or loss.
Communication & Operational Support
* Liaise with site teams and management to ensure materials are available in line with programme requirements.
* Highlight low stock levels or supply issues promptly.
* Support operational efficiency through organised and accurate stock processes.
Requirements
Essential
* Proven experience within warehouse or stock control environments.
* Valid forklift licence.
* Full, clean driving licence.
* Strong organisational skills and attention to detail.
* Excellent communication skills.
* A proactive attitude with pride taken in maintaining high standards of cleanliness and organisation.
Desirable
* Knowledge of plumbing, heating, renewables or solar materials would be advantageous but is not essential.
