Functional area: Engineering
The Engineering Manager, Humber Gateway Windfarm, exists to provide strategic direction on engineering and maintenance to the site team, to maintain and build the sites competence in the areas of technical performance of the operational assets, development and reporting of business critical KPIs, manage plant modifications and engineering issues, manage site engineering function, management of plant engineering and maintenance including associated contracts, Technical support in warranty negotiations, support business planning and Line Administration.
The Engineering Managers key stake holders are, the General Manager, Production Manager, HSE, Finance Manager, Central Engineering and the JV.
About the Role
1. Provide strategic leadership for all site engineering and maintenance activities, ensuring long-term asset integrity, availability and revenue optimisation
2. Develop and deliver the site engineering strategy aligned to the business plan, including in-house maintenance strategies and ad hoc campaigns
3. Lead, coach and develop an engineering team ( 5 direct reports), promoting a culture of safety, accountability and continuous improvement
4. Own and manage multi-million-pound engineering and maintenance budgets, ensuring effective cost control and CAPEX planning
5. Act as Site Contract Officer, overseeing engineering contracts, project delivery, contractor performance, and warranty negotiation
6. Continuously manage technical and operational risks, ensuring compliance with HSSE legislation, internal policies and statutory requirements
7. Implement and optimise asset management systems, including CMMS/SAP, to enhance KPI reporting, maintenance planning and performance tracking
8. Serve as a key member of the site leadership team, collaborating with Production, HSE, Finance, Central Engineering and JV partners to deliver the site business plan
Job Requirements & Experience
9. Degree-qualified in Engineering (or equivalent) with extensive experience in engineering asset operations, within offshore wind or a similar heavy industry
10. Demonstrated leadership experience managing engineering teams in offshore wind, marine, or comparable asset-intensive environments
11. Extensive background in plant maintenance, engineering project delivery, and lifecycle asset integrity management
12. Extensive contract management experience covering commercial, technical and safety aspects
13. In-depth knowledge of HSSE legislation and standards; NEBOSH/IOSH qualification
14. Experience implementing and managing CMMS/SAP or similar maintenance management systems
15. Effective stakeholder management and communication skills, with the ability to work effectively across site, corporate and JV environments
16. Professional registration (or working towards) with the Engineering Council and willingness to travel across UK and overseas sites as required
