Leeds City College is recruiting for an enthusiastic Apprentice Teacher to join our Education and Early Years team. This is an ideal opportunity for someone passionate about working with young people and eager to develop teaching skills in a supportive environment.
As an Apprentice Teacher, you will gain on-the-job experience while working towards a Level 5 Certificate in Education. The course is provided internally through University Centre Leeds.
You will receive support from our dedicated Teaching, Learning and Assessment team, sharing expertise and guidance on best practices at all career levels.
This is a fixed-term role for the duration of the 24-month apprenticeship.
The ideal candidate will be committed to inspiring students and supporting their learning journey. You will work alongside experienced teachers, developing your ability to engage and motivate students and gain valuable classroom experience.
Our Education and Early Years department has over 30 staff supporting approximately 600 students. Achieving qualifications can be life-changing, opening doors to further study, employment, or higher education.

What You Will Do
1. Plan and develop schemes of work, session plans, and learning resources.
2. Deliver and assess knowledge and understanding to learners.
3. Create SMART learning targets and monitor progress.
4. Record student progress and support achievement of targets.
5. Deliver at least 100 teaching hours over the course of the apprenticeship.
6. Support teaching and learning across various levels in a Teaching Assistant capacity.
About You
1. Experience working with young people aged 16–19 and understanding their challenges.
2. Good digital literacy and strong interpersonal and communication skills.
3. Confidence or willingness to build confidence in supporting students and working independently and in teams.
4. A passion for inspiring future educators and a proactive, adaptable attitude.
