Overview
An exciting opportunity has arisen for a registered nurse with an interest in and passion for infection prevention and control to join our established, forward thinking, dynamic team. The role covers community hospitals, mental health inpatient settings and a range of community services in addition to supporting Worcestershire Nursing Homes and GPs. The successful candidate will be supported to learn new skills and will need to be self-motivated with the ability to engage and motivate others. They must have good organisational skills with an ability to work as part of a team and independently as well as a willingness to learn and develop their knowledge base. This is a 37.5 hours over 5 days post but there is an opportunity to appoint to 30 hours a week worked over 4 days. The successful candidate must be able to meet the travel requirements of the role.
Responsibilities
In this role you will be responsible for promoting and enabling consistent provision of infection prevention and control and clean safe care to services and areas covered by the team. The role includes provision of advice and guidance; participating in a process of audit and assurance visits; surveillance and advice on management of infections; provision of infection prevention and control training and education. The service covers patients, staff, contractors and visitors as well as considering the design of buildings and environments; cleanliness and hygiene of buildings and equipment to ensure minimisation of infection risks. The post holder will need to be able to generate reports and use IT systems as well as be able to work to deadlines as part of a team and individually.
