About Us:
Role Overview:
We are looking for an Assistant Homelessness Support Worker to join our adult-focused 21-bed service in Haringey. You will work as part of a team to deliver assessment, support, and move-on services to our adult clients within supported accommodation.
As an Assistant Support Worker, you will coordinate the safe day-to-day running of the accommodation with other team members. You will be the first point of contact at reception for clients and visitors, and will coordinate daily office work, including leading on Health and Safety.
Key Responsibilities:
* Manage reception tasks, including handling phones, petty cash, rent collection, project post, and referral enquiries.
* Coordinate appointments for clients with GP, DWP, Probation, etc.
* Provide advice to clients on housing, health, welfare benefits, and other issues.
* Under supervision, manage a small caseload of clients as a keyworker.
* Diffuse difficult situations, resolve conflicts, and summon emergency assistance when necessary.

Person Specification:
* Experience dealing directly with the public or clients in a busy service environment.
* Experience managing complex or difficult behaviors; willingness to develop skills to support clients in challenging situations.
* Personal experience of homelessness and/or understanding of issues faced by homeless individuals; ability to maintain enthusiasm and contact with clients.
