Key Responsibilities of a SEND Intervention Specialist Deliver one-on-one and small group interventions tailored to individual learning needs. Support pupils with a range of SEND, including ASD, ADHD, and speech and language difficulties. Collaborate with class teachers and SENCOs to implement effective support plans. Monitor and track student progress, adapting strategies as needed. Foster a safe, inclusive, and encouraging learning environment. Promote independence, confidence, and self-esteem in pupils. Requirements for SEND Intervention Specialist Previous experience supporting children with SEND is highly desirable. Strong understanding of various special educational needs and intervention strategies. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills. A patient, empathetic, and proactive approach to working with children. Relevant qualifications or training in SEND (desirable but not essential). An enhanced DBS registered to the Update Service or be willing to apply for one through GSL Education.
