Overview
The job holder is responsible for managing digital and technology user adoption and engagement on site, planning and producing high-quality local digital communications content, and championing user needs across all groups. This role works with staff, residents, and the central Hub team to plan, design and produce local digital communications and engagement content. It identifies opportunities for digital services, digital content and technology to improve operational efficiency, staff experience, and resident experience. It is a non-operational role with line management responsibilities and is non-rotational.
Responsibilities
* Local Digital Communications Management:
o Define local communication requirements and work with SMT, residents and the central Content Designer to build a roadmap for local digital content.
o Create high-quality written, visual and audio content to communicate local news, events and updates, via the Hub (our digital communications platform), establishing a strong brand for local prison communications.
o Adhere to government and industry guidelines on publishing and maintain content; review page analytics and feedback to evaluate content success and engagement.
* Prison Digital Services & Technology Management:
o Deliver site-level digital and technology related operational performance targets; prepare a monthly report to identify and escalate any issues, risks and/or opportunities.
o Collaborate with SMT, HMPPS and MOJ to contribute to the Digital and Technology roadmap and priorities; identify and escalate site needs.
o Support the central MOJ D&T in the design and delivery of new digital services and technology programmes.
* User Management:
o Manage staff within the digital change network; build knowledge, keep them engaged and train them to support current and future digital services and technology programmes.
o Lead engagement, support and training for staff and residents to ensure the safe, secure and effective use of digital services and technology on site.
* Operational Security:
o Communicate and advocate device-related guidance with residents and staff; escalate if policies or procedures are not followed.
o Work with staff and residents to reduce rates of improper use of devices and/or digital services and reduce rates of intentional damage.
* Additional Duties:
o Lead daily stand-ups, attend the prison morning meeting with senior staff, conduct monthly operational review meetings, attend weekly hub team meetings, and lead digital change network meetings.
Qualifications and Requirements
The role requires the following strengths and experience:

o Proficient writing skills
o Experience in written, audio and video communications
o Experience in filming and editing audio and visual content
* Desirable:
o Experience working within a prison establishment
o Experience working with digital and technology
o Experience in content planning
o Experience with Content Management Systems
o Experience in project management
Hours, Benefits and Employment Details
Standard full-time working hours are 37 hours per week, excluding unpaid breaks. The MoJ offers hybrid working arrangements where business need allows, with arrangements discussed and agreed with the successful candidate and subject to regular review. Some roles may be unsuitable for hybrid working. Roles are nationally advertised with appointment to a MoJ office location (nearest Justice Collaboration Centre or Justice Satellite Office).
