Personal Assistant (PA) – Ingleby Barwick
Role Overview: We are seeking an experienced and reliable Personal Assistant to support a 40-year-old gentleman with Cerebral Palsy who uses a wheelchair. This is a rewarding role for someone compassionate, organized, and committed to providing high-quality care.
Key Requirements
* Age: 25 years or older
* Driving: Full, valid UK driving licence (essential)
* Experience: Previous care experience preferred
* Physical Assistance: Use of hoist for transfers
Responsibilities
* Personal care: showering and general hygiene
* Meal preparation and cooking
* Household cleaning and maintenance
* Transport to appointments, adult day centres, and social activities
Pay & Benefits
* Hourly Rate: £12.21
* Night Shift (sleeping): £70 per night
* Holiday: 5.6 weeks per year
* Flexibility: Cover for other PAs during holidays/sickness; may be required at short notice
Shift Pattern
* Approx. 80 hours over 4 weeks (6 shifts)
* Typical term-time schedule:
o Week 1: Wed 3pm–Thu 10am, Thu 3pm–Fri 12pm

o Week 2: Sat 12pm–Sun 12pm

o Week 3: Wed 3pm–Thu 10am, Thu 3pm–Fri 12pm
*
o Week 4: Sat 12pm–Sun 12pm
* Non-term time: All shifts are 24 hours, including bank holidays, Christmas, and New Year
Additional Information
* PA must be willing to work flexibly and cover shifts at short notice.
* Full training provided for hoist use and care routines.
* Enhanced DBS Check: Required (cost covered by employer)
