Your Impact

Are you a highly experienced Hardware Engineer looking to help deliver high‑performance technology at the heart of our world‑leading Surveillance RADAR systems? If so, we’d love to hear from you.

At Leonardo, you’ll be part of a team creating hardware that plays a critical role in protecting people, assets, and nations. In this role, you’ll experience the full engineering lifecycle—from shaping early requirements and architectures, to designing innovative, PCB‑level electronics, all the way through to supporting integration and qualification of the final product.

What you’ll bring

1. Approving and owning work package plans associated with the allocation and deployment of team members and workload at with suitable milestones to enable effective Engineering and business reporting

2. Risk Analysis of Work Packages advising of risk and suggesting mitigation plans where required

3. Giving overall direction to the team advising on technical specialism, domain expertise, engineering process and tool use as required

4. Being responsible for ensuring the team deliver technically sound solutions meeting all stakeholder requirements

5. Resolving of complex multidisciplinary issues raised from within and outside of engineering

6. Resolving non-routine issues by making proposals and driving solutions through

7. Creating a culture to generate innovative ideas and solutions to local team and wider business problems

The skills and experience we are looking for:

8. Higher education approved STEM qualification at degree level as a minimum or equivalent as recognised by professional accreditation schemes

9. Circuit design (schematic capture) layout and simulation practitioner experience.

10. Mixed signal knowledge using ADC/DAC, FPGA, SoC based design for high performance signal processing, communications and control.

11. Integrating in-house designs with COTS modules (power supplies, single board computers, RF interfaces)

This role is subject to pre-employment screening in line with the UK Government’s Baseline Personnel Security Standard (BPSS). An additional range of Personnel Security Controls referred to as National Security Vetting (NSV) may apply, this could include meeting the eligibility requirements for The Security Check (SC) or Developed Vetting (DV).
