Based at City Hall, in the Royal Docks (Kamal Chunchie Way, London, E16 1ZE).
About The Role
In this role you will work as a part of our Press Office. Working with our Senior Press Officer, you’ll lead on our digital content, making sure our social media channels and website reflect the work our Labour Assembly Members are doing to champion the interests of Londoners. You will also support the rest of the Press Office in drafting regional or local newspaper stories as required.
This is a busy role that combines proactive work to generate media stories and reactive work to respond to breaking news.
Role – Responsibilities
* Lead on digital content for social media channels and the website, reflecting the work of Labour Assembly Members.
* Collaborate with the Senior Press Officer to plan and execute media stories.
* Produce video clips of Assembly Members speaking at London Assembly Committee meetings.
* Attend constituency visits to record video, edit footage and support posting on social media.
* Monitor the social media content of key stakeholders to identify opportunities for collaboration.
Skills, Knowledge And Experience
* Experience and evidence of running online media campaigns.
* Understanding of current affairs, the political context of London government and major issues facing the capital.
* Experience in similar roles in high profile organisations or for high profile people.
* Demonstrated commitment to promoting equality and working with diverse groups in developing work for Assembly Members.
