Job Summary
We are looking for two enthusiastic and motivated Residential Social Care Workers to join our dedicated team at The Big House, a warm, welcoming short breaks home in Edwinstowe, Nottinghamshire. The Big House provides high‑quality care and support for children with severe intellectual and physical disabilities, offering them fun, safe, and enriching experiences while giving families valuable respite. The ideal candidate will support vulnerable children with intellectual disabilities, ensuring their physical, emotional, and health care needs are met in a nurturing environment.
Key Responsibilities
* Providing high‑quality care and support to children with intellectual disabilities.
* Meeting the physical, emotional, and health care needs of the children.
* Engaging in activities that promote their development and well‑being.
* Working collaboratively with team members to create a safe and supportive environment.
* Maintaining accurate records and documentation related to care plans.
* Participating in shift work, including weekends and bank holidays.
Required Skills and Qualifications
* Experience working with children and young people in a residential setting or school.
* Experience supporting children or adults with learning difficulties.
* A commitment to ongoing professional development and training.

Working Hours and Benefits
* Early shifts: 6:30/7 am – 3:00 pm
* Late shifts: 2:00 pm – 10:00 pm
* A rota system, working two weekends out of three, with a 12‑week advance schedule for planning.
* Additional pay for hours worked after 8 pm, on weekends, and bank holidays.
